The Perfect Sleep

This is a happy ending, after all.
And the kind of story we've been thinking of
isn't supposed to have a happy ending.
But this is the happiest ending for all of us.
You see, in our own way, she is mine and I am hers.
Perfection and imperfection.
That is why I close my eyes now.
I realize what she has taught me.
An imperfect sleep can be the most perfect one of all.
And now that I have had a perfect sleep
I will finally have a different kind of sleep,
a sleep from which I will never awaken again.
